The Specter harnesses the power of shadow magic to debilitate enemies and preserve the health of allies. Enter Shadow Shroud to link with friends and fuel the destruction of your foes.

Specter is an elite specialization for the thief unlocked with the End of Dragons expansion. They deepen their knowledge of shadow magic, traditionally used for assassination, to also strengthen their allies, connecting their own shadow with that of an ally. They siphon shadow force with their attacks to Enter Shadow Shroud, unleashing darkness on their foes, and supporting their linked ally.
Specters have learned well skills, which they repurpose as mobility skills, shadowstepping to another location before dropping these wells that damage foes and aid allies. They can also wield scepters in their main hand, conduits for their shadow magic that drown enemies in darkness, or shroud allies in barrier. Specters excel at both damage dealing and support.

On low-level maps, moving to a different area with a different dynamic level adjustment level will reset your Shadow Force to 0.[2]
