How To Go Pro In Bedwars [Advanced Guide] (2024)

Hello friends, lately over the years I have been seeing these types of forums and videos about how to become better at bedwar. They say the same things and they're always very obvious. Hopefully, I can go more in-depth and give you actual tips on becoming better.
Warning: I am not the best myself, some of this information you may already know, and this info is for players who truly want to become better.
Feel Free to Skip to Parts You Would like to learn, it's quite a long post...Properly Warming-Up:
Properly Warm-Up. I see many players just hop onto a bedwars game or spend like 5 mins in a duels game before playing bedwars. Sadly, this is not the most efficient way to get better at bedwars though. Bedwars take various different amounts of skill and you should warm them up correctly. To become good it is faster to practice each skill individually for a little bit than to hop on a game and go straight to a game of bedwars. There are many reasons but I'll just name one. Playing with bad players builds up habits on certain skills. Average bedwars players aren't the best, no surprise! If you try to enhance your skill through them your gonna either going to gain bad habits or improve at a snail's pace. It's like trying to lobby dodge all the good players in your queue and wondering why you're not good yet (, or good at fighting players that aren't complete dog water).

Play Style:

You're either an aggressive player or a game sense, (or in between).

Aggressive players tend to be more... well aggressive, and are very confident in their skill to win. They win games fast but are more likely to lose to other good players than game sense players are. They also tend to skip diamonds, rush in no matter what, and in team game modes always tries to 2v1 even though it is smarter to stall or wait for team8. Their mechanical skill is usually next level though. (Summary: Not very stacked and rely on almost flawlessing every player that is somewhat stacked to win)

Game sense players tend to be more passive and play smarter. They win games slower than aggressive players but tend to always win even in every scenario. They tend to get diamonds (diamonds are OP no CAP) and sometimes gather them instead of insisting on rushing again. They play safer and more boring. Their mechanical skill is not as good as aggressive players. They play a bedless game like there is a gun to their head, it's crazy.

The best bedwars players are the ones that are in the middle of Aggro and Game sense. Once you find out what playstyle is more dominant to you; you then know how you want to improve. For instance, if you're too aggressive when you lose your bed, you should try to learn how to play smarter and slower instead of rushing every team cuz your hella salty.

Tips & Tricks:
The long-awaited tips and tricks. Some tips won't be useful depending on what you're seeking.
This will probably be very messy.

Clutching:

  • Instead of Rushing, make a b line for mid if there isn't anyone there already.
  • Diamonds are OP, sometimes better than emeralds for clutching (Once I got railed by a bedless guy that had prot 3 and I couldn't do anything)
  • Pop-ups towers are basically a poor man's pearl. It lets you escape a losing fight by just spamming them.
  • If the last couple of players are above average in skill, let them fight each other.
  • Don't take unnecessary fights, just image everyone is as good as you
  • Watch for Fireballs, this is obvious but I see it happen many times where some die because of it
  • Play smart don't try to 2v1 when you're a final
  • F5 or perspe mod a ton
  • Know where everybody is
  • Btw Invis was good like 2 years ago, good players see invis before you can say HAX

Underrated Items:

  • Water is good for fireball jumping, watering someone's base (amazing for countering obby), or just running away
  • Ladders if you are fighting someone good or somewhere high (not rly underrated)
  • Pop-Ups equal instant block ins and as I said their basically a free escape card
  • Shears are hella clutch. (Explain Shears later)
  • Wood, it the best block in material
  • Upgrading tools, I don't see this enough

Game Sense:

  • When fighting someone, try to figure out what kinds of player they are (one that deals kb, very aggro, or doesn't move), you can use this info to fight them better
  • Like I said diamonds are Op if your rushing someone that is good, it's sometimes better to get diamonds than to rush them again just to trade
  • Also like I said earlier know where everyone is; if they getting ems or are they close to your base
  • Know how stacked they are and fight smartly against them
  • In games don't rush in thinking you can 2v1 or 1v1 when clearly you can't. Do what's best for your team and stall.
  • Sometimes it's better not to interfere with 2 teams 1v1ing because you can either kill that team and be left with finals that you have to clean but at the same time fighting the other team or, try killing one of the teams just for your other rush to attack you.
  • Save your resources duh
  • TNT at the start of the game should only be used if the other team is good.
  • In lobbies try to find whos good so you can target them'

PVP:

  • Don't W tap when your not around 3 block range (too close or too far) I used to w tap when I was close but that doesn't work
  • Block hitting forces KB, not W tapping. W tapping is like dodging in and out of someone hit range, don't think of it as a Kb dealer even tho it does deal more KB
  • Think of S tap as counter strafing for w tapping (S taps aren't that good in non-speed PVP)
  • Strafing should be used to keep your distance not just make the other players aim worse
  • If you're really sweaty turn on Hitboxes (F3 + B) to see a person's reach so you can go in and out of it + strafe to where the person's vector is not looking
  • Remember to do all of these in bridge fighting
  • Use ladders for no kb and no fall damage
  • To counter ladders watch Qem's vid on it
  • Remember the higher the enemy the more reach you have, this is important if you want to get the first hit
  • When doing those wrap around where you jump around a block to hit someone off of a bridge, hit them first and then place a block underneath
  • IMPORTANT: When Bridge fighting always attack/strike when they don't expect it, almost never attack when they're already aiming at u
  • Blockhitting on bridge fights are hella op
  • Always make a wall behind yourself whether you're on a bridge or flat ground, this stops kb
  • Jump combos are very effective when done properly
  • Blocks are op when used to PVP, they can be used to make people's aim go off course, make someone become higher than you giving them less reach, and stop the enemies' movement

Random:

  • Turn off View Bobbing for better aim and bridging
  • Turn off FOG
  • Turn on particles so you can see invis and other players trying to act slick
  • Turn Blocks and players sound high to hear people
  • Fov doesn't matter much but lower fov has more benefits like bigger hitboxes for enemies, easier to clutch, and easier for briding (doesn't really matter though)
  • Make your skin to slim, it doesn't do much but its better than being dummy thiccc
  • If you are toxic ur going to be a worst player. Nothing comes out of being toxic even if the other player is toxic just act really sarcastically nice.
  • Watch good bedwars players like Luvonox, Wqlff, Bombies, nohuh, Dogcatwhat, and etc
  • Don't be weird and build a secret base
  • Play ranked bedwars <-----

Shears PVP:
Shears get their own section since they're pretty good but just don't get used much. Of course for breaking def, shears are good for PVP. This is going to be hard to explain but bear with me. Shears are mainly used in PVP to make small holes where you can hit people unexpectedly, block trapping, making people put their guard down, and making enemies' platforms smaller so they're easier to hit off. These are mostly bridge fighting related.
Ok, let's start off with the first one when a player places a wall of wool thinking they're safe, no, u got shears, all you have to do is break one of the blocks so u can hit their feet. This also works when you're the one placing the wall of wool. You place the wall and break the top block so you can hit the player on the other side, then quickly replacing the block so they can't hit back. No one expects players to hit them through a wall.

Now on to the second reason, this is pretty obvious so I won't explain it but I'll give you a move that is hella effective. If someone has height on you on a bridge, place blocks to roof yourself so they can't jump and hit you. They'll eventually walk over to the end of the roof to be on even ground as you; you then break a block then easily block trap them. This works cuz they have almost no other option than to hurriedly run to you and they expect you to fight.

The third reason, if you mine a bridge to make a gap, the player across from the gap will think they are safe because no one would jump to attack them because behind the player that is attacking will be a huge gap, this is where you DO jump onto them and flawless them. This also works because sometimes the player across from the gap will try to fill it in with blocks, this is where you pounce on them. Lastly, you can mine the bridge knowing the enemy will be attacking you soon. This enemy will not know that you know they're coming, so just when they're in reach you look up and flawless them. They'll be surprised because they thought you were an easy kill.

The last reason is self-explanatory. DoNe

Credit to unwaver- " when clutching against sweats or just a beefy defence, fireball x tnt is the best ship in bedwars clutching i can think of. invis, jump (and speed if u want to), milk, and then fb the first few layers and plant a tnt, tower up and break the bed right after the tnt explodes. its a lot faster and efficient and harder to detect than just using tools. if theres glass break one of the glass then place the tnt and tower up"

Tysm for reading, I'm so f dead rn
