How to unlock more items in ROR2? ›

Some items need to be unlocked by completing a Challenge to appear in game. Pick up an item to unlock its logbook entry. There are currently 148 items and 38 equipment in the game.

Common, Uncommon and Legendary items are found in item chests, terminals and Shrines of Chance. Defeating a teleporter boss causes the teleporter to drop Uncommon gear, with the exception of three that can drop unique, Boss items. Lunar gear is purchased with Lunar Coins via Lunar Pods or at the Bazaar Between Time.

Lunar Items can only be acquired by spending Lunar Coins. They are available in either Lunar Pods scattered around the various maps or for purchase at the Bazaar Between Time. Since Lunar Items can greatly change the way a run is played, it's important to know what every one of them does.

The 57 Leaf Clover is arguably the best item in the entire game. When in your inventory, every effect that's triggered from an item you have is triggered an extra time if the original failed. You will get an extra roll for each stack of the 57 Leaf Clover you have.

Kur-skan, the Heretic is a secret playable character in Risk of Rain 2. The Heretic cannot be selected from the character selection screen at the start of a run. Instead, she must be transformed into by holding all 4 Heresy items at once.

The 57 Leaf Clover adds one try per stack whenever an item tries to proc, increasing the chances to get a favorable outcome. This effect makes any items that have a chance to trigger more effective. Lunar items cannot be scrapped, and as such there is no way to guarantee that the Cleansing Pool will not remove one of her valuable Heresy items. (This is less of a concern if you have stacked multiples of those items.)

MUL-T is arguably the easiest character to unlock. All you need to do is clear the first stage five times. You'll naturally unlock MUL-T just by playing, and you also can speed up the process by farming the first stage.
