Amy Side Story - Sonic Frontiers Guide - IGN (2024)

This walkthrough will guide you through completing Amy's side story, which can be found on Kronos Island. Amy's story primarily focuses on her desire to reconnect two Koco lovers, and is both part of the game's main storyline and branches out into side content.

The walkthrough below will separate Amy's story into two halves: everything that is part of the main story and everything that isn't part of the main story. Amy Side Story - Main Story Content

This is all of the main story content you'll need to access to complete Amy's arc, reveal the titan's location and grab all the Chaos Emeralds.

Rescue Amy

Our first interaction with Amy is when we rescue her. She's found in a cyber cage just northeast of the Blue Chaos Emerald Vault.

You can find her at the emblem shown on the map above. When you reach Amy, interact with her cell to prompt a short cutscene. When you regain control, you'll have to pay 6 Memory Tokens to release her from her prison.

After you've paid, Amy will be released, cueing another short cutscene as her and Sonic catch up.

Find Amy: Reuniting Lost Lovers

After battling the Titan for the first time and losing miserably, you'll be dropped in the northeast corner of Kronos. You'll find Amy just north of your position. Exchange some memory tokens and she'll offer you a new quest. The very vocal Koco next to Amy will tell her that they're on a journey for love, wanting to admit their feelings to the love of their life before it's too late.

Amy will tell Sonic that they should help the Koco, with Sonic rightfully bringing up that it doesn't feel particularly pressing considering they're trapped in a hellish simulation filled with colossal demons and robotic nightmares. Regardless, we need Chaos Emeralds, and somehow we'll unlock them through this game of Cupid.

Find Amy: Helping A Worried Mother

After you're done chatting with Amy, we'll want to find her again. She's moved southeast of her original position, as shown on the map below.

Once you reach Amy, offer her more Memory Tokens and she'll give you a new task. A Koco mother has lost her children and needs you to round them up and return them to her.

Round Up Baby Kocos: Green Chaos Emerald

Finding the lost Kocos will act as a mini-game, with Sonic spawning in a long field. On the opposite side of the area are Amy and the mother.

To win, Sonic has to guide the flock of Kocos to their mother. However, as the children move, they'll drop bombs every few seconds. If these detonate and hit Sonic, he'll lose a life. He has three lives in total, so you'll want to make sure you avoid the bombs and keep pushing up the field.

The trick here is to run at the Kocos and, when you see a bomb spawn, immediately circle around it, wait for it to explode and then continue herding the Kocos away. The explosion will linger for a few seconds, but it won't take long for the dust to settle and allow you to keep moving up the field.

When all the Kocos are reunited with their mother, the mini-game will end and Sonic will win the green chaos emerald. Watch the following cutscene and you'll return to the open world.

Find Amy: Pursuing Love

After grabbing the gold Chaos Emerald, you'll be prompted to go and find Amy again. She's just west of the gold emerald, as marked on the map below.

Head over to Amy, offer some memory tokens and speak to her. She'll claim that the small Koco's lover was on the other side of this field, although they can't find them. It'll leave Sonic with a new task.

Clearing the Field: Cyan Chaos Emerald

The objective of this new mini-game is for Sonic to clear the weeds from the field ahead. To clear weeds, you'll have to use cycloop in circles around the field. Every weed contained inside the circle will be cut when the cycloop is complete and you'll receive a score depending on how many weeds you cut. To win the game, Sonic has to amass a score of 7000 points.

However, he won't be alone. Bees will chase him and attempt to sting him as he attempts to complete his objective. If he gets stung three times, the game is over. If you're chased by bees, you'll want to use cycloop on the flower buds surrounding the field. When these open, the bees will be distracted, allowing you to escape.

You'll have 100 seconds to get the highest score possible, so there's no real rush here. Try to make small circles and keep track of the bees to stay out of harm's way. If there are too many in one location, run far away from the spot you want to de-weed and open up a flower. When the bees head over there, you'll have more space to operate.

Keep killing the weeds and you'll eventually be victorious. Completing the mini-game will net you the cyan Chaos Emerald.

Find Amy: Wasting Time

Once the Silver Chaos Emerald is in your possession, we'll be tasked with reuniting with Amy. She's not far away and can be found just west of the Silver Chaos Emerald Vault. We've marked it on the map below.

This is another section where we just have to play out a short cutscene. Sonic rocks up, has an argument with Amy and then we'll be sent straight back into the open world.

Find Amy: Flashback

After the wasting time conversation, you'll need to find Amy again. This time she's northeast of the Silver Chaos Emerald Vault, as shown on the map below. Head over to her, exchange some Memory Tokens and you'll cue another cutscene.

This time we'll see a little bit more Kuco lore and the resolution of the Kuco lover arc. When it's finished, you'll return to the open world.

Find Amy: The Final Clue

After seeing the Koco flashback, you'll need to find Amy again. She's northeast of the Silver Chaos Emerald, as marked on the map below. Go talk to her and you'll cue another cutscene.

Watch it and then the small field of obelisks to your right will unlock, allowing you to move the previously chained gravestones. You'll now be able to solve the gravestone puzzle and track down Giganto.

Amy Side Story - Optional Content

Alongside all of the main storyline content that crops up around the map, there are also a few optional conversations you can access if you have the required memory tokens.

Amy Optional Conversation: "Running on Instinct"

Found in the southeast corner of Kronos Island, just southeast of Stage 1-2. Its location is marked on the map below.

Amy and Sonic talk about the cryptic puzzles found on Kronos Island, with Amy suggesting the beings that lived here prior could've communicated using Cyberspace.

Amy Optional Conversation: Chaos Emerald Containment

The next location can be found in central Kronos Island, directly next to the gold Chaos Emerald Vault. It's marked on the map below.

When you find her, exchange the necessary amount of memory tokens and you'll watch a short cutscene. Once it's over, you'll return to the open world.

Amy Optional Conversation: "Like a Dream"

The next location can be found to the northeast, directly next to the Stage 1-5 portal. Its location is marked on the map below.

Head over to Amy and she'll discuss how it feels to be trapped in her cyber form. Once she's done talking, you'll return to the open world.

Amy Optional Conversation: Trapped in Cyberspace

The next location can be found in the north of Kronos Island, north of the gold Chaos Emerald. The map location is shown below.

When you chat to Amy, she'll talk about what it was like before Sonic rescued her. When she's done talking, you'll return to the open world.

Amy Optional Conversation: "Is Retro Sci-Fi A Thing?"

The next location is found in the south of Kronos Island, just east of the silver Chaos Emerald Vault. It's marked on the map below. If you arrive at the location and can't find Amy, it's because she's on a platform suspended in the air. Use the grind rails next to you to reach her.

Amy will chat to Sonic about the architecture of the island, saying they need to find Tails so he can theorise about how the civilisation that lived here built everything.

Amy Optional Conversation: "It's Sad Here"

The final location is found in the northwest corner of Kronos Island, northwest of the silver Chaos Emerald Vault. The location is marked on the map below. You'll need to use the nearby ramp to launch yourself to Amy's position.

Speak to Amy and she'll claim the land is sad and desolate. Sonic will claim that gives him more room to speed around and the two will finish their conversation.
